Guitarist RICHARD KRUSPE Doesn't Enjoy Recording With RAMMSTEIN

RAMMSTEIN guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe, who is currently promoting the sophomore album from his EMIGRATE project, spoke to Ultimate-Guitar.com about the differences between the recording processes of the two bands. Asked if the the studio experience with RAMMSTEIN at least somewhat enjoyable, Kruspe replied: "No. No way. It's not. Not for me anymore. It works, but I went through a lot of suffering."

He continued: "I love RAMMSTEIN and the way that we work is the only way that it works and I understand that. But especially being in EMIGRATE and realizing what kind of person I am, I like to be the one who is in control and has the last say on things. It makes me a better team player at the end of the day."

Richard added: "RAMMSTEIN is so democratic and often decisions are being made because of the egos, not because of the music and I don't have that in EMIGRATE. It makes the studio experience so much more pleasurable in EMIGRATE than in RAMMSTEIN. But there is a responsibility that we have, being in a band like RAMMSTEIN. So if you're asking if I enjoy recording with RAMMSTEIN, no, I don't."

Kruspe recently told UK's Metal Hammer magazine about RAMMSTEIN's future plans: "We have a live DVD coming out, we have another live DVD coming out, we have another live DVD… We have so many live DVDs right now that we have to work that through. So, I think, at the moment, everyone does his own thing. I think it's important, because, again, RAMMSTEIN was always a band that took their time, that listened to themselves, listened to what they need, how much time they need between [albums]."
